Setup Help First
you have to Download Windrop, you can download it from "Download Page".
Axtract/zip the file into c:\windrop , open the Windrop
folder and you will se eggdrop.advanced.conf, eggdrop.complete.conf, or
eggdrop.simple.conf. eggdrop.simple.conf is for newbies open it.
After you have created your configfile change name of the configfile to the bots nick
(eks; eggbot.conf)
Open your msdos prompt and go to the eggdrop directory
like this; cd c:\windrop and then to get the bot started
type: ./eggdrop -m botsnickname.conf . ( -m is only used the first time you starts the
bot). Now its just to wait for the windrop to join your channel.
When the bot is on irc you have to type: /msg botnick
hello . When this is done the bot will know you as the owner
If the bot doesnt show up in your channel do you have to
telnet to the bot.You will use your IP and the port number you choosed in your configfile.
When youre in telnet Type 'New' as your nickname then type your ircnick and then a
password you want.
If the bot still doesnt come on watch the telnet window
or the log file in c:\windrop\logs and see whats
wrong. It happends to be a ident problem. If the server wont let your bot inn type .jump
then it jumps to the other server in your server list. If no one of your servers works try
to update your server list with some new servers like: irc.homelien.no , irc.inet.tele.dk
, efnet.demon.co.uk ...
Thats all you have to do to get a windrop to work.
Still dont get it? Join #windrop @ efnet and hola at
