How to make IGN icons with Paint Shop Pro 7
Requirements for an IGN icon
- 80 x 80 pixel size
- Must be on a transparent background (.gif).
For all of you with graphics editing
programs, the board background color is
B1B3BC, if you want to make a nice anti-aliased edge.
- Must be less than 5k
- Try to avoid icons that are perfect squares
or cut off some of the image.
We want the icons on the IGN boards to look
nice, and we try to avoid boxy
looking icons or icons that look strange
because the image is cut off at a weird point.
For example, if you cut the
top of someone's head off, it looks silly.
- Avoid "assy" looking icons. Like I
said above, we want the icons
to look good, so try to avoid overly jaggy
edges, unreadable fonts, etc.
