I examined the tuning of all oscillators digitally, there are now equal amounts of negative and positive pitch values. 4 new riff presets added. Missing notes fixed. Luxus version has all fixes except the extensive tuning.

MinimogueVA 2.2 updated 20.12.09.

  • Multi-core problem solved.
  • 11 new sounds by "Greeg" Grzegorz Bartoszek. 1 new sound by "Joost" 2 new audio-rate filter modulation patches and 4 new riff patches. 1 new patch by Dan Goldstein.
  • All patches are now in tune.
  • "All notes off" working properly.
  • Changed knob response to vertical.
  • New glide system that works like the original.
  • New midi-learn system by right clicking any controller.
  • New algorithm for self-oscillation level.
  • Missing notes fixed.
  • Renamed all automation entries, and cleaned up the automation list.

Presentation

The Minimogue is a lead, FX and bass synth just like the real Minimoog. It is programmed to be as expressive as possible. This is a synth for the players. Modulation wheel takes a big part in the solo sounds. Also try to play long legato lines to hear the full sweep with sounds like Big drift. It is cpu friendly. CPU load is 1% on a 1,5 centrino machine. On my old P4 1,7 machine CPU load is 3 %.

The first 3 rows of knobs represent the original Minimoog. The only additions here is a button for retrig and legato. The original Minimoog is always set to legato. Also there are sliders for fine tuning that is not present on the Minimoog, but these works just like the pitch knob, only that it is more sensitive. Its just there to help you, because the Minimoog sounds best when it is almost in tune, but not 100%. Tuning plays a big part in the Minimoog sound. Also release in the envelope generators is added. The upper section is where you create sounds.

The last row of knobs represent new features that we have added that is not present on the original Minimoog. These features are midi control, oscillator sync, LFO, autopan, overdrive, chorus and a delay section that you can sync to host BPM. The LFO has 3 functions. At low level settings it is intended to simulate the small tuning and instabilities in an original Minimoog. At high level settings it simalates the tweaking of a knob so that you can focus on the playing. The third function is to give oscillatorsync pitch variations to work with. It also syncs to host BPM. See faq for more info.

MinimogueLUXUS2.1  released 01.03.07

MinimogueLUXUS 2.2 Improvements :Shorter evelope times possible, hanging gate fixed, problems with arpeggiator fixed (Crash with control signals). Aftertouch only sent to filter. New output module. Many new presets by Frank Kønig and Scott Bickel. Lower CPU in effects section with poly sounds. Removed CPU spikes when chaning presets. R emoved serial filter - this saves CPU. CPU is now 50% lower for a full polyphonic chord. Fixed octave and waveform knobs.

MinimogueLUXUS1,1  released 16.09.05

NB: This is not the official MinimogueVA. This is a seperate version with higher CPU-load. The synth has its own name, and can be installed in addition to MinimogueVA

Features:

34 new patches in the factory bank. Button in the LFO-section for syncing the LFO waveform to bar-start. This is important in order to get predictable results in rythmic effects. New arpeggio and gate section. Speed is common for arp and gate. The speed syncs to host-clock and can be set to 1/8, 1/4Triad, 1/16 and 1|/32. If you select manual speed, you can set the speed by tapping the tap-button 4 times or by moving the speed-slider. A LED shows tempo as BPM. Note that when you select manual tempo, this tempo is also sent to LFO and synced delay. In this way you can use the gate/arp-section to set the synced delay-speed by tapping. The gate has 16 steps. Seperate velocity section with a new amp velocity knob. New key-follow knob. (Values higher than 5 gives shorter decay times in upper ranges, values less than 5 gives shorter decay times in lower ranges.) Download from the download page. To install: Extract the Zip-file to your VST-plugins folder. (New features by Gunnar Ekornås, new graphics by Glen Stegner)

MinimogueLUXUS  released 28.05.05

Features:

Switchable mono/5voice polyphonic. Two filters. One for left channel and one for right channel. Seperate cutoff frequency for each channel. Pan for each oscillator. Pan modulation with tempo sync to host for oscillator 1 and 2. For oscillator 3 use the autopan button. The autopan function now only affects oscillator 3. Added option to modulate only right-filter in LFO-section. New internal signal path. Higher CPU-load. Download from the download page. To install: Extract the Zip-file to your VST-plugins folder.

MinimogueVA  version 2.0 released 14.09.05

New features:

32 new patches in the factory bank. The gate has 16 steps. There is now a button for selecting mono mode or 5 voice plyphonic. Also fixed a bug that caused the MinimogueVA to send program changes to other synths in your host.

(New features by Gunnar Ekornås, new graphics by Glen Stegner)

MinimogueVA  version 1,4 released 13.05.05

New features:

The synth is now stereo. Glide time now stored with patch. Filter velocity.  LFO. Overdrive. Autopan. Chorus. Delay section has option to set double delay time to right channel. Many new patches. Also I think the CPU spike when changing presets is smaller. The main focus has been to keep the CPU load down, and I think that is achieved. All new features are optmized so that they go to sleep mode when they are switched off.
