TAP

Synced/Manual speed for arp/gate: In synced mode the tempo is synced to host tempo. In manual mode you can set the tempo with slider, or by tapping speed 4 times. Note that only slider speed is saved with patch. In manual mode the speed is also automatically sent to LFO and synced-delay speed. So actually you can tap the speed for both LFO and delay.

You can even tap tempo while playing, but dont tap a new tempo before the LED light is off. (After 7 seconds).

In manual mode the arp/gate is triggered in a different way: It start the cycle when you hit a key on your keyboard. In sync mode it the cycle start at bar-start. Please let it run for 2 bars to get in sync with your host before playing.

Note that I have set arp/gate speed to manual control most rythmic patches in the LUXUS version. This is to make it ready for live-use.

How to tap delay time: Set gate/arp to manual control. Tap tempo 4 times. Set delay mode to sync. Select the desired note values.

Please use the options to sync delay to host clock by selecting "Sync" in the Delay-section.

Key-follow: At setting 5 the key-follow is off, and a red LED will light. Values under 5 give longer decay times in upper ranges. Higher values than 5 will give lower decay times in upper ranges just like a guitar and piano. Key-follow affect filter-decay and amp-decay.

PAN

Set the pan position for each oscillator. Pan modulation is available for each oscillator. Use Autopan button for oscillator 3. Autopan use LFO as speed-source. Oscillator has option to select inverse direction.

Note that pan modulation use more CPU.

VELOCITY

Amp velocity makes the output louder when you hit the keys stronger. Filter velocity increases the filter cutoff-frequency when you hit the keys stronger.

  PATCHES

Leads=Solo sounds. Most of these use 2 oscillators, and use oscillator 3 for modulation wheel.

Riff sounds=Sounds intended for repetive phrases. In most of them osc 3 is used as audio source, and because of that there is no modulation from the mod-wheel on your keyboard.

"Big drift" has a new delay setting to make an impression of reverb.

"Riot at UFFA" is a tribute to a concert-arena in my neighbourhood. UFFA means "Youth for free activity". It has the hardest music in my city: Hardcore and Punk. The patch is for use when the guitarists are smashing their guitars.

AUDIO QUALITY

Oversampling is not implemented. The synth works internally at 32 bit. It automatically syncs to your host sampling rate.

How to reduce CPU usage: Set lower release values. Set pan-modulation value to zero. Please use the options to sync delay to host clock by selecting "Sync" in the Delay-section. In polyphonic mode the synth has 5 voices. I have set the output to be as hot as possible. Because of that, it's important that you reduce volume when switching from mono to poly to prevent distortion.

MinimogueLUXUS MIDI control.

Please send me patches if you have created some. I am always interested.

Have fun!

Best regards

gunnar
