Department of Applied Mathematics

Head of The Department of Applied Mathematics: Yibeltal Yituyew

The Department of Applied Mathematics offers courses related to mathematical applications in various disciplines.

It also renders minor programs where knowledge of mathematics is highly applied such as Economics, Physics and Chemistry. Computer Science and Information Technology will be given as minors in the near future.

Students are expected to complete a total of 140 credit hours of major, minor and general courses. Upon completion, students will be awarded "B.Sc. Degree in Mathematics (Science)"

Gradates will have a wider range of job opportunities in academic and research, finance and business institutions, computer centers, industries and other governmental organizations. Minor programs will also help the students to widen their job opportunity.
