Department of Applied Biology Head of The Department of Applied Biology: Tamrat Andargie The Department of Applied Biology offers courses which capacitate students to perform researches on problems related to Environment, Ecology,
Conservation of Natural Resources, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Health, Agriculture and the like. Students are given a wide variety of courses to sub-specialize themselves in any of the five streams:
Ecology and Environmental sciences, Zoology, Botany, Microbiology and Parasitology, and Genetic and Molecular Biology streams. In their stay at the department, students are expected to
complete a total of 140 credits (67 compulsory major 19 elective major, 24 compulsory chemistry, and 31 general supportive credits) Most departmental courses involve practices and field work in
